Let me start by saying who doesn’t love some good SEO hacks am I right? If you don’t already know what SEO stands for it’s Search Engine Optimization. Basically it’s how you get free online traffic when someone does a search. Why does it matter if you’re already on the internet? Well because you want to be the website they click on! With a sea of search results it can be impossible to be seen. Luckily I’ve done the work for you!

Live & Learn SEO

I am by no means a blogging or SEO guru of any sort, but I am making it my goal to create posts that are insightful or inspiring in various avenues. Blogging happens to be one that I have been learning more and more about as I grow my online presence. Outside of my blog, SEO can help me with my online business too! It’s not ONLY applicable to the blogging world, but any website that exists online, being able to get eyes on your content/products/services etc –is everything! Having your website rank on Google is an absolute must if you want to grow your audience. But oh how intricate the World Wide Web is!

I find myself easily spending countless hours researching SEO basics, strategies, hacks more often than anything else. The thing is, not everyone has that kind of time to spend or even wants to spend the time on SEO. So I decided to make it easier for you working woman out there who are still working away at your blog after hours. Cue Search Engine Optimization and my SEO hacks.

When it comes to running a successful business, blog, brand whatever–you need to make sure you are consistently and methodically growing viewers, readers, customers etc. Aside from the actual content–optimizing your blog is probably one of the most important things you can get started on today. So let’s get started with some simple hacks!

#1 KEYWORDS

If you are going to choose a topic, be sure to include long tail keywords with a Keyword Difficulty score under 50). It’s important that you use focus keywords at the beginning portion of your content the most.

Use a helpful tool that will analyze SERP or Search Engine Results Pages which has everything to do with the response to a keyword search.

#2 TITLE TAGS

It’s extremely important that you make sure your keyword is in the beginning of your title tag. Also keep the length of your title tag short enough so that it’s visible on google. This plays a huge role in google search visibility. I use ShareThrough to help me choose a blog title and then I refer to the Yoast SEO feature which shows me a preview on Google. Oh yea and if you don’t have the Yoast SEO plugin. Get it. Stat.

#3 META DESCRIPTION

This is your best opportunity to create a call to action. It’s the descriptor that’s going to make someone click on your link. The more people click, the more Google is convinced you should have good ranking. Again the Yoast SEO feature really helps to make certain you are checking all of these boxes!

#4 CONTENT

Make sure you aren’t just posting nothing but images. Google wants to see text so try and keep your word count as high as you can go. It is debatable whether or not there is a specific number of words to bump up your seo, but it’s always a good idea to write your heart out! More words means more opportunity for relevant keywords.

#5 INTERNAL LINKS

It’s important that Google sees that your content is relevant. One way to do that is by linking back to your own posts. Those posts typically have relevant keywords. Imagine Google doing a quick sweep on your site by way of that link. Neil Patel published an article on internal linking that is amazingly in depth and really breaks it down!

#6 OUTBOUND LINKS

It is just as important to have outbound links on a post! However, with outbound links you are going to want to describe the hyperlink text in relevant words. The hyperlink is also known as an anchor text because it will be taking your reader outside of your site to something else related.

#7 IMAGES

Google SERPS are not able to read images. Therefore, it’s important that you include Alt Tag for each image. The descriptor on your Alt Tags should tell Google what the image is.

I hope that today’s post was helpful to you and wish you the best SEO results on your site. As I continue to grow my blog, I will hopefully continue to bring your more helpful blogging and SEO related tips and tricks!
