Day to Night Skin Care Routine

Day to Night Skin Care Routine

Back To The Basics

Lately I’ve been going back to basics as far as my skin care regimen is concerned. I feel like this is becoming a regular thing for me in both my day and night skin care routine. I have to say I can probably attest the glowy and improved texture of my skin to a couple of new products I’ve incorporated recently.

Because of the amount of product there are on the market these days for skin care, I sort of got stuck in the ever revolving door of newness. Don’t get me wrong I am a product junkie and I love to see what other ways I can improve my skin. Sometimes that means trying the latest product to hit the beauty world. However, sometimes it’s nice to remember your best skin day  and what exactly you had done back then to get there.

Now, my skin needs more TLC at my age today then it did back in the day, but the simplicity in my skin care regimen is something I always and go back to.

A Little Help From My Friends

If you’ve read my post on Skin+Pharmacy the brand then you know that incorporating a Glycolic in my skin care (specifically my day cream) was such a major factor in the brighteness and overall smoothness of my face. And while Glycolic is an ingredient in a lot of cleansers and peels, my preferred way of using it is definitely in a moisturizer as I feel that is how I receive the best results for my skin so I decided to reintroduce it back into my day time regimen. I don’t usually use a cleanser in the morning, so after splashing my face with water I’ll usually go in with a tiny amount of a brightening face oil (also something new I’m doing) and after a few minutes I’ll use my glycolic face cream. Mine doesn’t have an SPF so I’ll also follow with one.

The third item I want to mention is a retinol face oil. I’ve also started incorporating this into my night time routine following my a cleanser and a toner. I absolutely love the concept of retinol oils they are just so hydrating, but effective. So far it’s been at least 3 weeks of using these products, but the fact that I’m noticing the overall appearance of my skin improving, is so great and I don’t plan on changing anything for now.
