Warm Up With This Low-Carb Holiday Healing Golden Milk

If health is at the forefront of your mind these days, but you’re struggling to bypass all of the sugary and hot Christmas drinks-then look no further! Today’s post is especially for all of my healthy, low-carb, but guilty pleasure loving readers who are looking to get warm and cozy with a tasty Christmas drink. And I have the recipe for you!

As of late, I’ve been looking to incorporate more ingredients that actually do good for my body throughout the week. It’s OK to go a little crazy on the weekends by the way. I do…every weekend. Still I give my best effort throughout the week. Part of that means giving my body what it needs when it needs it.

Because I’ve been working on getting my own health on point I find it’s pretty important for me to have a way I can incorporate something healthful in my day, each day. Personally I have always been curious about any inflammation I might have going so I’ve been looking more into incorporating turmeric.

Turmeric has always been raved about as having such an abundant list full of health benefits. Curcumin more specifically is the active agent in Turmeric that makes it so good for you. From increasing antioxidants to decreasing inflammation and even lowering the risk of heart disease, the list goes on.

On it’s own Turmeric can be quite powerful, but I’ve done a lot of reading that recommends adding black pepper to any recipe that includes Turmeric to further enhance it’s benefits! So don’t be too quick to write today’s recipe off when you see black pepper in the ingredients list. Also turmeric is fat soluble which means it needs fat to dissolve, so I prefer to use an oat milk with this recipe.

You don’t have to turn to sugar to enjoy a festive Christmas drink, this Holiday Healing Golden Milk will get the job done, so grab your favorite mug and let’s get cooking!

INGREDIENTS:

  • Turmeric 1.5 Tsp
  • Black Pepper 1/4 Tsp
  • Cinnamon 1.5 Tsp
  • Chai Powder 1 Tbsp
  • Oatmilk 1/2 cup
  • Water 1/2 cup

  1. In a small saucepan combine all ingredients
  2. Stir for about 3 minutes
  3. Pour into cup and use frother for that latte look
  4. You’re done! Enjoy it by the fire!

I have been hearing about all of the benefits of turmeric, so I just may have to try this. I have tried it in herbal teas, but this seems like it will pack a more powerful punch.
