5 Tips To Boost Your eCommerce Store Sales This December

As the owner of an eCommerce store, I thought I’d share a few good tips on ways to boost sales this holiday season!

Speaking from the point of view of someone who has experienced the ups and downs of selling a product and running an eCommerce store–I know how frustrating it can be to get sales.

There are so many factors that determine who’s looking at your product and who’s buying your product, this is a fact. In some instances it’s about getting visibility and in others it’s about what happens after you get eyeballs on your product.

Down below are 5 ways you can boost sales on your eCommerce store this holiday season from search to checkout!

#1 SEO

As much as I hate to say it, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is everything. If you ain’t with SEO then are do you really even have an eCommerce store? Optimizing your website, your listings, your social media product posts is incredibly important because this is how customers will go from a search inquiry to your shop. I still am learning as much as I can about SEO tactics and strategies and to be honest it’s all research, trial and error. Better late than never with this one. Give yourself the opportunity to come up as an option for customers so optimize your business to receive that traffic.

#2 SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING

When it comes to social media and being creative, the world is your oyster. We live in a society that is highly visually driven and dare I say aesthetically driven. Everything that matters seems to exist online and since that’s where you’ll find your buyers, you’re going to want to be a part of the social media matrix.

Make sure your social media is poppin and active especially during this holiday season! I know that as a customer I’m totally a sucker for the visual aspect of a product. Whether that means the packaging or lifestyle visualization, sometimes customers need an extra push when making a decision to buy. Show them how much they want to have your product in their hands!

#3 Sales + Discounts

Can we talk about the psychology of the discount? This one is quite a popular one and can be a great incentive to commit to buy. There’s something about shaving a few dollars off the price that can really just make all the difference in the world. You could always offer up your discount codes or sales throughout the entire month, but my favorite way to offer a discount is by way of triggering a coupon for abandoned cart shoppers asap.

Studies show that most shoppers look for discount codes before they purchase a product and often times will decide against the purchase if they can’t find one. Most of the time shoppers will leave their items in the cart and never return. What better way to present a solution to their problem: a discount code!

#4 Buy One Get One Free (BOGO)

There is only one thing better than a discounted price and that’s free. Who doesn’t pull the trigger when it comes to buy one get one free? BOGO gets me almost every time so if you’re looking to close a sale, here’s your magic sauce.

#5 Free Shipping

Again, another way to get your buy to commit to buy is free shipping. This is especially true because we all know that the cost of shipping can really make or break a sale. As a business owner, it only makes sense for you and your business to adjust product pricing to accommodate most of the cost you’ll be eating up with free shipping. That may mean a handling fee or a packaging fee etc.
