Day 3 – Cleanse

Knowing I was going to be eating dinner tonight made the day easier and harder at the same time. A green juice is definitely not enough to sustain me for longer than an hour. So I continued to snack on nuts throughout most of the morning.




By lunch I was getting chat messages from one of my coworkers who was wondering why we started this thing to begin with since we all love food. At that point we started negotiating the terms of this cleans we made for ourselves. She was willing to cook an authentic Mexican soup for all of us the following day if we ended this cleanse tomorrow morning. I love Mexican food. So yes we ended it the following day. But I still had my Beet Juice at lunch, got a work out in and had a green smoothie the next morning.

My final thoughts about this whole thing-I feel less bloated, my stomach is noticeably flatter to me anyway and overall I feel like I had to have lost at least a couple of pounds so far. I’m sure I could keep going for a little bit longer, although it does take restraint and discipline to not eat anything all morning and afternoon.  However I definitely feel healthier and cleansed. You end up drinking a lot of water throughout the day as well which was good because I never drink water. I feel like I might continue to substitute two meals with a juice or a smoothie at least until I get to my goal weight. I’m glad we did it if only for three days. I feel good about it mentally and physically and I’m glad we get to go back to eating if we want.
