This winter has been pretty tolerable in California. What am I saying, when isn’t a Californian winter intolerable! Weather aside, it did drop to a cozy cool enough temperature to make me want to hang an obligatory seasonal sign that says baby it’s cold outside and immediately get into hibernation mode for the next few months.
Hibernate Like A Bear…or a Sheep
Luckily home is what you make it and cozy is where I live. What I wanted was clean, cozy and warm. And in my humble opinion when I think of a cozy space, I (and all of Instagram does too) think of sheepskin rugs (I only believe in the faux kind of course). It’s the first thing I looked for in December because it’s such a versatile piece that you could easily lay it out as a rug, drape it across your couch or jazz up your comfy chair! It adds a bit of glam as well. I purchased this sheepskin rug from Ikea for $29.99 and then experienced buyer’s remorse the following week when I found a much larger one for $11.99! No worries I bought that one too. You can never have enough sheepskin rugs.
It’s Lit!
The next item on the list and a very important ingredient to coziness…candles! More specifically tea light holders I bought at the World Market. If you are ever in need of decor inspiration wander into the World Market for a bit. I particularly loved that they always have a variety of textures and shapes to mix and match. If you’re wondering where my inspiration came from its definitely Scandinavian.
Winter Is Coming
Next I added a few artificial plants because a whole lot of white with pops of green is my vibe. I bought the dried Eucalyptus plants from Target and the container plant as well. I also needed a new standing mirror and this one from Target got the job done.
My final pieces are these two framed horse prints which I feel add a little bit of art, but still tying in with the aesthetics. I’ve listed all the links down below in case you’re interested in converting to cozy this winter!
