What does it mean to be the main character in your story?

There’s a new wave of female self-empowerment out there: change your story, change your life. That is to say that if you change the narrative you tell yourself about your life, suddenly everything can feel new and exciting again.

Being the main character in your own story means taking back control of the life that you live and the experiences you have. It means no longer being a bystander in life and instead taking an active role in your day to day life.

How can you do this? By finding ways to add purpose and meaning to your morning routine or everyday habits even in the little things. Small things like lighting a candle while enjoying your morning coffee or reading one page from a book each morning before getting started with the day can create powerful moments in your daily life.

Taking just a few minutes out of your morning to appreciate small moments will make your day more meaningful and special. A simple morning cup of coffee could be the beginning of a beautiful morning ritual that reminds you of how special you are and how amazing life can be.

If you choose for it to be. Embrace opportunities for growth and adventure, look for moments of joy each day and truly appreciate how special life can be. By living with intention, you can create a life that is truly romantic.

It’s also about nurturing yourself and your passions. It could be spending more time doing a hobby you love or trying something new. I recently started ready Atomic Habits by James Clear and in it his mantra is you are what you repeat. This was the one sentence that really stook out to me. It really put things into perspective for me once again that if you want to create a certain life for yourself, the small things you repeat everyday will one day ultimately be a culmination of those things.

This pertains to everything in your life: from the way you talk about yourself, to the tasks you put off and even the job that you have. Be mindful of repeating good habits that help you get you to where you ultimately want to be. So make sure to choose your habits and activities wisely and start creating the romantic life of your dreams!

How Do I Romanticize My Life?

I personally like to start my day by reminding myself of what I have to be grateful for. It’s a habit I made myself get into so that it just becomes part of my day. So I will take a couple of minutes each morning to write this down.

Next, even during the work week I really love to take some quiet time to ease into the day with a cup of coffee. And coffee is quite ritualistic for me. Everything from the coffee beans to the glassware is very much a moment in my daily morning routine.

I generally love to be in a creative state of mind so I’ll often look at inspiring photos, or beautiful homes. I am even guilty of listening to some ambience café music on YouTube to make myself feel like I’m sipping an espresso at some French café. It weirdly puts me at ease.

I also love buying flowers on some Fridays just because I love looking at them on my vanity. I also love lighting a candle and make some tea just about any night before bed to mellow out from the day. And skin care ritual is very much me time. I believe this is my form of self care and self love. I love to take time some evenings to really pamper my skin and indulge in an at home spa session. So those are a few things that I do to romanticize my life, even though they seem really mundane.

Start living each day intentionally

This will help you make the most out of every moment and give more meaning to everyday tasks. Start by making small changes such as waking up early or doing something productive during downtime — these things can have a surprisingly large impact on your daily routine.

Make Time For Mindful Moments

Make sure that whatever activity you choose is something that makes you happy. Doing this daily has incredible health benefits for your state of mind.

One way to do this is by setting aside time each day for yourself to have a really mindful experience. This could be making meditation the first thing you in the morning, or right before bed. Dedicate at least 30 minutes to an hour to do something that makes you feel good and grounded. This is your time to relax, rejuvenate, connect and ground yourself before the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Another way to romanticize your life is by filling your social calendar with events and activities that you enjoy. Whether it’s meeting friends for coffee, going on a date or attending a networking event, make sure you’re doing things that make you happy. When you enjoy your social interactions, they won’t feel like a chore and you’ll be more likely to meet new people and expand your circle.

The key is to be aware of how you’re feeling and take proactive steps to either improve your mood or maintain it. The mind is a powerful thing and it often seems to be the nexus of all that we perceive which can affect our day to day lives.

Energy is also a powerful force and a language between you and the universe. So always be aware of your vibration. A helpful mindset moving towards the reality of your dreams is one of gratitude. Eat Drool-Worthy Food

Another part of loving your body is nourishment and since we eat food everyday why not make it count? It’s important to give yourself the best chance at health. And guess what health looks good. But did you know you can still be healthy and indulge in all things delicious. These days I make a conscious effort to eat foods that make me feel good both in terms of taste and ingredients.

I never really have guilty cheat days anymore because I’ve managed to make a lifestyle out of amazing, delicious, healthier alternatives! One of my absolute favorite breakfasts these days for instance is a coconut yogurt grain-free granola breakfast bowl! I’m obsessed with it and will probably share my recipe in an upcoming post. Treat Yourself To A Spa Day

Can’t forget the outward glow up too! I absolutely love a good spa day or pamper session any day of the week. Spending a night-in luxiourously lounging in a bubble bath, with a great hair treatment and facial mask with a good book.

There’s nothing like it! Make yourself some tea, turn on some mellow music and treat yourself. Afterwards throw on a great silk robe to continue the lavish evening with a glass of wine or a cup of tea. Take sometime every evening to balance out with some me time.
