Architectural Appreciation

The most magical element of Parisian chic interior design is all of the architectural details. French homes from the countryside to the city are full of architectural elements that merge old and new styles of interior design. One example of this would be French molding and wall paneling details. Want to elevate your space? Add simple or decorative paneling for a subtle way to visually enhance your space.

Interesting Furniture

The third most notable element in French interior style in my opinion is their choice pieces of furniture. You might have noticed a wave of new interest in interior decor on the gram. Well yes even interior design is making it’s debut in the homes of many an influencer, but I think the French did it first. Unlike the pressure of investment piece furniture shopping, the French don’t seem to try too hard. It’s as if every sofa or accent chair has a story to tell. French furniture seems to be a cross between modern and vintage which again is that merging of new and old.

Art

If the Parisian culture and lifestyle itself isn’t some kind of artwork then I don’t know what is. However, art for interior design is almost innately very French. Implementing art new and old is easily another element of this interior style. The eclectic nature of French interior style makes styling romantic paintings with modern day prints an easy one. From abstract paintings to prints and even sculptures, any one of these would suffice to adding that touch of interest. In fact, modern French interior design always seems to incorporate both elements of vintage and modern.
