Welcome to chasing Palm Trees. On today’s episode, I wanna talk about the struggle of being busy women and cherish some self-care tips you can incorporate into your daily routine to help.

Welcome to the second episode of Chasing Palm Trees, and if you’re tuning in today, then welcome. Happy to have you. I was thinking the other day about how time seems to be flying by so quickly these days. I think about all the minutes, hours and days that I do my best to work. My nine to five work on my two [00:01:00] blogs, my candle business, social media.

Exercise, clean my home, spend time with my parents, my significant other, go grocery shopping and the list goes on. It can be quite a lot to juggle and I don’t even have kids yet. And the reality is that there are many women these days that are multihyphenate. Meaning that they have many different roles in life, be it mother, teacher, friend, businesswoman, et cetera.

In fact, the multi hyphenate definition actually is a person with multiple roles and responsibilities often related to their career. As a busy woman myself with many responsibilities and passions, it can be difficult to stay focused on all of them while trying to give each the attention they deserve.

Our minds are often overwhelmed with thoughts of obligations and deadlines we need to meet, which can make it hard to relax and enjoy the present moment. So today we’re gonna chat about some of the struggles that come with being a young, busy multihyphenate woman and [00:02:00] how you can incorporate some self care techniques into your daily routine, even if only for a few minutes each day.

Let’s start by discussing why it can be difficult to manage all of our passions and obligations. One of the biggest struggles is finding balance between work and leisure. It can be hard to make time for yourself when there is always something else that needs to be done. Another issue is trying to prioritize your tasks, especially if they’re equally important, right?

You might find yourself feeling exhausted or frustrated because you just can’t do it all. So how can we better manage our responsibilities and find time for ourselves? The key is to start small and be consistent. Begin by setting realistic goals and making a plan for your day that allows you to prioritize tasks while still finding time for yourself.

Set aside at least 15 minutes each day or once a week for a little self-care. According to Oxford languages, self-care is quite literally the practice of [00:03:00] taking action to preserve or improve one’s own health. This could be anything from reading a book, taking a walk, journaling, doing some yoga, even just fully leaning into your skincare routine.

Just make sure it’s something that brings you joy and allows you to relax and take your mind off the daily grind. Another important aspect of self-care is getting enough sleep each night. I know I am also very guilty of those long, late nights thinking I can fit everything into a day, not taking my sleep schedule so seriously, and it totally affects me the next day.

I’m not nearly as productive as I’d like to be, but it’s important I prioritize sleep and make sure you get at least eight hours of restful sleep each night. Sleep deprivation can lead to decreased productivity, increased stress level, and even more health problems. For me personally, indulging in a good old skin care membrane session helps me to relax, take a breather, and focus on my wellbeing.[00:04:00]

Skincare is something I enjoy immensely and makes me feel good knowing I’m taking care of myself to some extent. I bust out all of my beauty tools and I mean, I really go in. Okay. I actually have a whole blog post on some of my favorite self-care beauty tips. If you wanna check that out. I’ll leave that in the show notes for you.

I think for women it’s so important to nurture your mental, your body, and your soul, and then you can be productive and creative. It’s important to take that time to ourselves to regroup, reflect, and recharge. So ladies, take a few moments each day to make yourself a priority. It’s the best way to ensure that you’re taking care of yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally.

I think finding the right balance between what we give out and what we give ourselves is probably going to be a long journey. It’s important to remember [00:05:00] that self-care is an ongoing process and not something you can do once and forget about. You are with yourself always, so it’s important to practice self care every day in order to stay healthy, happy, and productive.
