So summer is here already and it’s time to change up the scene and change up your look. Today, we’re looking at one of the hottest places on the map right now and some of the hottest looks and beauty trends this summer.
When it comes to traveling this summer, there are so many beautiful places to explore. From tropical beaches in Costa Rica and Hawaii to the rolling hills of Italy and France. There’s something for everyone. I myself amit you to go back to Italy. But I wanted to talk about one city specifically that is getting all the buz this summer.
It’s. I’ve noticed that everyone seems to be traveling to Portugal this summer lisbon specifically, but Portugal seems to be where it’s at. Now correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m guessing this has a lot to do with the up and coming film by Wes Anderson called Asteroid City, starring Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, and some other big names, not to mention the Pretend you’re in a Wes and Sin challenge that’s floating around. Instagram seems to be pretty popular.
Now, Lisbon is a city I’ve never been to before, but I know a little bit about it. It’s on my bucket list. Because, really, every place worth traveling is on my bucket list. But Lisbon, from what I do know about it, is a charming city with lots of history, stunning views, beautiful architecture, delicious food and wine, and a vibrant nightlife.
It looks like Lisbon is getting a lot of attention, specifically from influencers and bloggers. Everyone seems to be posting pictures of themselves in front of colorful buildings and walking through cobblestone streets or sipping on Portuguese wine at one of the many local cafes. And I’m not going to lie. While I do love to wait for the travel trends to die down a little, I would be so happy to be in Portugal right now.
Like many charming European cities, Lisbon has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a cultural experience or just an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Lisbon is perfect.
Downtown Lisbon is full of unique shops, galleries, and restaurants, as well as beautiful parks, and it’s easy to get around with the metro system and trams that are available. There are also many places to travel. From there, you could easily do a short trip to Sintra from Lisbon. You could do a day trip to Porto from Lisbon. But Lisbon itself is also very full and has a lot to offer.
If I were going to see Lisbon in a day, I’d start with a visit to Castle of St. George and then wander down to the iconic Praça do Comércio for some unique views of the Tagus River. From there, I’d take the time to explore one of Lisbon’s many beautiful neighborhoods, such as Alfama or Kiato.
And if you’re looking for a vibrant nightlife, then Lisbon at night really comes alive. Downtown Lisbon is a great place to look for bars and clubs that often feature live music. See, I really did my research, so when I go, I’ll be prepared.
Now that we’ve talked about travel trends for the summer, let’s talk about some of the beauty trends that are all the rage right now. I publish a blog post about the latest beauty trends that are really catching my attention this summer. And I just have two words for you mermaid core.
Is anybody else as excited as I am about that makeup trend? I love, love, love how playful and almost ethereal it is. In general, I think makeup looks that are really gaining popularity this summer are also fun, bold, sexy, glossy, iridescent. And I’m here for all of it. Well, maybe not all of it, but definitely the twelve that I posted about.
We’re seeing lots of color in bold lips and vibrant, smoldering, smoky eye makeup. We’re seeing color in graphic eyeliners and really pretty, slightly exaggerated blush. There is, in general, more of a focus on softness and more diffused makeup. In fact, Chanel is the latest brand to release their newest collection that focuses on a modern twist on vibrant pigments and like, red. So eyeshadows and blush seem to melt into each other in a really soft, modern way.
There’s also an emphasis on that sort of smooth, glossy skin, glass skin that’s less about the chunky highlighters, which I love. Fenty does a highlighter called Pearl, which is absolute perfection, doesn’t look like your typical highlighter, it’s more of a gloss.
And we’re also seeing the playfulness of a French manicure with a modern twist. I love the pastels that I’m seeing, the orange French tips. I love it all the makeup and beauty looks that are grabbing my attention and that are super relevant for chasing palm trees. And the chasing palm Trees girl is all about being pared back, but still bold. Minimalist but vibrant. Subtle but sexy. And yeah, I just love it all.
